Two examples of CE Electro-Acoustics’ latest acoustic consultancy work:
- Q Acoustics - Q-TV2 (ultra discrete BMR, 2.1 TV speaker system).
- Curvi Hifi - Curvi Model 1 Version 2 (single drive unit, full range transmission line loudspeaker).
Q Acoustics
The Q-TV2 is a fully active, DSP loaded 2.1 system. This utilises ultra slim BMR drive units, in both the satellites and in an incredibly thin force cancelled subwoofer. The system elegantly and effortlessly clipsto the rear of aflat TV:
"There are millions of large flatscreen televisions sold every year, but sadly, whereas everyone agrees the picture quality they produce has been getting bigger and better, there can be few who would dispute the sound they deliver has become ‘thinner’ and worse. Q-TV2 is the perfect solution to this problem. It delivers a massive improvement over the TV’s own sound, yet is so discreet, we can reasonably describe it as ‘almost invisible’. All owners will see is an extremely slim, very stylish satellite speaker peeping out from either side of their TV. Importantly, what they absolutely won’t see, are any wires or what is probably the world’s slimmest subwoofer, at only 38mm deep. The latter contains 100 watts of amplification, plus the control electronics, and attaches completely out of sight to the standard VESA sockets found on the back of every television.” [Tony Jones]

Curvi HiFi
Curvi Model 1 Version 2 loudspeakers. A stunning example of a full-range, single drive unit transmission line loudspeaker:
“Curvi loudspeakers are a synergistic blend of visually stunning design, skilful use of materials and rigorous electro-acoustic analysis. The single driver approach leads to unrivalled imaging, coherence and timing qualities that elude multi-driver loudspeakers. Clever cabinet design and driver choice, together with an analytical approach to diffraction compensation and transmission line damping ensure very high tonal neutrality and bandwidth that has hitherto been unheard of in single driver loudspeakers.” [Chris Liauw]
